Since the beginning of the adventure, Ellipsos Quartet has continued to offer concerts in caring qualities including programming and presentation.

 This results in six themed programs, for the general public and/or specialized public :

 

- "Go Back to Paris/New-York"  - Concert with videos projection

- "Sax & Gospel" - Music of Yesterday and Today (Baroque and Gospel music)

- "The Saxophone Quartet and their dances..."

- "French Music : composers of the twentieth"

- "Peer Gynt" : Grieg, Glazounov, Prokovieff, Bartok..."

- "What would be Classical Music on the saxophone? Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven"

PARIS/NEW-YORK"

Paris, New-York, 2 culturals capitals abouding...

Since in two trips in New-York (2007 and 2009), the Ellipsos Quartet tribute to Franco-American Alliance History.

This concert image is quite unusual because the audience travel both in music and also visually by a video projection.

 

"Rare and precious qualities" that's what characterized the saxophone, according to Hector Berlioz. Hypnotic rythms of Steve Reich (New York Counterpoint), colors of Maurice Ravel (with "Le Tombeau de Couperin and his infernal Toccata), to the sparkling melodies of Jean Français, intimate interpretation of Georges Gershwin's work - Porgy and Bess - including the famous "Summertime" and the no less famous "Adagio" by Samuel Barber, the Ellipsos Quartet us discover the saxophone -with its move Paris/New-York return for free (!)- through an original and varied program.

"SAX & GOSPEL"

"Sax & Gospel" is a show of Church, acoustics, dedicated to music from Yesterday and Today. The uniqueness lies in training vocal quartet and saxophone which blends the "Toccata and Fugua" by Johann Sebastian Bach, ran away one extracts of "Preludes and Fugua" by Félix Mendelssohn, "Choral Adorned" and "Aria" from Bach, alternating with famous arias of Gospel. ("Amazing Grace", "Down by the riverside", "Oh Come all Ye Faithful"....)

 "THE SAXOPHONE QUARTET AND THEIR DANCES"

From Edvard Grieg to Thierry Escaich, from the "sarabande" to "tango", the public travel for over one hour of the themes of this recital very rythmic and danceable.

The recital of French music offered here is somehow the directory "original" of Ellipsos quartet. Love lines, technology, wealth "characters" and clarity of diction that requires the "french style"... the spectator is invited to discover the tricolor repertoire too littleknown to the public.

 "What would be Classical Music on the saxophone?"

Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven

Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven formed the first Viennese School, which is today called "classical period". But the saxophone was invented some 150 years later (!), Was unable, therefore, to cross the path of these three great composers ....

So might have to give this fictional meeting between the saxophone and the geniuses of classical music?

                     An extraordinary journey has imagined here Ellipsos Quartet ....
